Help > Email > How do I forward or reply to a message?

After opening a message in your Inbox you will see the contents of the message and a toolbar with several buttons:

To reply to a message:

  • Click on the "Reply" button
  • Compose your reply message
  • Click on the "Send" button

To reply to a message and copy all the listed recipients:

  • Click on the "Reply to all" button
  • Compose your reply message
  • Click on the "Send" button

When replying to a message, each line of the original message will be quoted with a leading ">" character to indicate what portions were part of the original message. It is normally good etiquette to remove the quoted portions that do not relate to your reply as it makes it easier to follow what points you are responding to.

To forward a message to another person:

  • Click on the "Forward" button
  • Enter the addresses of the people you wish to receive the message
  • Add any comments or notes of your own to the message
  • Click on the "Send" button

When forwarding a message, the original message will appear below your comments. At this time files which may have been attached to the original message are not automatically forwarded however this capability is being added.
